Description:
Arnie Beswick built from the ground up, what was considered by many to be the ultimate GTO Judge. The car, with its Carousel Red paint and special hood and deck lid striping, was one of the sharpest and most eye catching race machines to appear in the funny car field of the day. It was powered by a supercharged, Enderle injected 428 Super Duty Pontiac motor and the newly released Ram Air IV heads. The rest of the drive train consisted of a B&M reworked turbo 400 transmission coupled to a narrowed 1960 vintage Pontiac rear axle.
Although the Pontiac engine wasn't privileged to have all the latest and greatest in new pieces that the hemis' had, Arnie still managed to get the car down the quarter mile and put his share of state-of-the-art "bad boys" on the trailer. The Super Judge, competing in a Ford and Hemi dominated field, sent many home scratching their heads, as it streaked down the track, turning low 7 second ET's at 190+ MPH.
Because of these kinds of performances throughout his early days of racing, Arnie was, and still is to this day and undisputed crowd favorite no matter who his competition may be. This Super Judge flip top funny car is a near replica of the real race car that Arnie actively campaigned through 1969 and early 70s when it was replaced with the Boss Bird entry.
