Description: These cards are from the Steve Pukas collection, who graciously donated them to help raise funds and awareness for Racing Against Cancer. Mr. Pukas is an east coast collector who worked for years to not only assemble his massive collection, but then to travel to countless races and driver appearances in order to get these pieces signed. You’ll be able to bid on the entire collection exclusively here on GoMotorBids.com, beginning in June of 2008 and running through October 12, 2008. We are honored to be auctioning off these impressive cards on Mr. Pukas’ behalf.
The Earnhardt family have all experienced varying levels of success in the racing world. From Dale Sr.'s 76 wins and seven Winston Cup titles to Dale Jr.'s two Busch Series titles and multiple wins and more, the family will go down among the great racing families like the Andrettis, Unsers and Pettys!
This auction is for a set of four hero cards from the Earnhardts. The cards included are the following:
- Dale Earnhardt "The Intimidator" 1990 Champion (10" X 8") - Dale Earnhardt Jr. #3 Prime Sirloin (8" X 5.5") This one features Dale Jr.'s entire signature as he signed it early on in his career! - Kerry Earnhardt #8 Western Steer (8" X 5.5") - Kelley Earnhardt #38 Bennett's Smokehouse & Saloon (8" X 5.5")
PLEASE NOTE: The three Earnhardt children hero cards all have some edge wear where scotch tape was removed from the previous owner. Look closely at the photo of those hero cards to inspect the damage. The Kelley card has several small spots where the surface is missing along all four edges. The Kerry card has a few small spots along the top and bottom including the top left corner where the surface is missing. The Dale Jr. card has a large spot along the left edge where the surface is missing and a couple of small spots along the bottom. Please don't let this discourage you from bidding on this extremely rare and unique set! With the clever use of an artwork matte, you can very easily cover these spots up!
Jon Blanchette founded the Racing Against Cancer Team™ in 1996 after cancer claimed the life of his wife Jodi in 1994. The purpose of the team was to generate awareness and funding for the American Cancer Society. From its humble beginnings, the Racing Against Cancer Team™ has blossomed into a true fundraising effort.
Today, the Racing Against Cancer Team™ is a diverse group of members, from race fans to competitors, to track promoters and corporate partners that share a love of auto racing and a desire to find a cure for cancer. The Racing Against Cancer™ program raises funds for cancer research and patient services through a variety of channels including donation drives, raffles, merchandise sales and a paid membership program called “Join the Team”.
The Racing Against Cancer™ program is a federally recognized 501(C)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the raising of funds for cancer research, patient services, youth tobacco educational programs, and awareness.
