Jeff Burton currently drives the #31 Caterpillar Chevrolet Impala for Richard Childress Racing. He also races part-time in the Nationwide Series driving the #29 Holiday Inn Chevrolet. In 1996, Burton was driving the #99 Exide Batteries Ford for his new team, Roush Racing, and finished 13th overall in the season standings. His career hit a peak from 1997 to 2000, as he never finished lower than 5th in the points standings.
The firesuit we've got up for bid is an authentic, real-deal AUTOGRAPHED firesuit worn by Burton during the 1998 season! The autograph is located on the front of the suit, just under the 'IES' of 'Batteries'. Normally, less than a dozen race suits are produced for each driver each year. In addition, the majority of authentic firesuits end up either displayed in the race shops or given to primary sponsors as gifts, making them nearly impossible to acquire - and arguably the most sought after item for any racing collector or fan. This firesuit has definite signs of wear and tear from being worn on race-day and will be the focal point of any Burton collection out there!
