Up for bid today is a RACE-USED A.J. Foyt Jr. Valvoline-Gilmore USAC/Indy firesuit! It is not dated but is believed to have been produced sometime in the early 1980's, during the transition from Racemark to Racestar since the suit is marked with both manufacturers. It's a very heavy suit in race-used condition, with no missing patches and has been constructed out of 3 or 4-layer quilted Nomex and Fipro, which was absolute state of the art for that time.
This suit was obtained from a private collector who was close friends with the former owner of Racestar (formerly Racemark). When Racestar was sold the Bell, the collector was able to purchase of number of the surplus suits, including many that had been sent back and traded in by the race teams. This suit has NOT been laundered or cleaned in any way so it is in the exact race-used condition it was in when sent back in to Racestar. This is an extremely rare firesuit so don't miss out and place your winning bid today!
