Description:
In 2007, a documentary-style movie, entitled "Dale", was released in theatres and included original, never-before-seen footage of Earnhardt's racing career and personal life. The movie also showcased family photos and historical interviews with the seven-time champion that give the viewer an unprecedented look at the man in black. "Dale" was released in early 2007 showing only in major NASCAR markets. The film is a collaboration between NASCAR Media and CMT, and is due for a future DVD release.
Motorsports Authentics released a series of 12 cars in conjunction with the movie. These cars represent various important dates and cars in Dale's life. This particular diecast is #8 in the series and commemorates Earnhardt's 7th championship title. It rests on a checkboard base with a plaque.
The car also comes with a collector card with reflections from Chocolate Myers: "We won 'em two years in a row and then we'd have a little off year. We won 7...it could have been 14 just as easy...we were so close a lot of times...but to win that and go down and be part of it...it's a big deal...we were so fortunate to do what we did...there were other people workin' just as hard out there...but they never made it to Victory Circle...but we had Dale...we just loved what we did...and then to go to New York and get recognized...that was just cool...but we worked hard we deserved to be there. He could've won a lot more, that's just how good he was. The last one was just as special as the first."
