WELCOME TO THE J.J. YELEY AUCTION AT GOMOTORBIDS.COM
URGENT NEWS UPDATE: Our friend and auction partner J.J. Yeley sustained a serious neck injury during a sprint car race last Saturday night at Lakeside Speedway, right here in GoMotorBids hometown of Kansas City. We are very happy to report that J.J.’s doing well and is expected to fully recover. He’s resting at his North Carolina home, and has been up and around. Unfortunately he won’t be racing again this season, but doctors expect that he’ll be back on track by the 2010 Chili Bowl.
Welcome to the official J.J. Yeley Online Auction, hosted exclusively here at GoMotorBids.com. We are honored that J.J. has chosen to partner with us, and we look forward to offering our members the opportunity at an amazing selection of race-used memorabilia and rare collectibles from his private collection.
J.J. paid a visit to the GoMotorBids.com facility, where he met the staff, took a tour, and personally autographed hundreds of collectibles which will be up for auction in this section. Click on the short video below to see some footage of his visit.

J.J. Yeley

Second-generation racer J.J. Yeley has a pedigree like few other drivers. He began racing quarter-midgets at the tender age of 10, and moved to full-size midgets at the age of 14 (with the help of an “altered” birth certificate). At the age of 16, he became the youngest driver ever to receive a USAC license. He garnered his first victory behind the wheel of a non-wing sprint car in 1995, and in doing so was the youngest SCRA driver in history to take the checkered flag.

In 1998 he got the chance to pilot an IRL Indy Car for several races, and became the youngest IRL driver (at the time) to qualify for the Indy 500. He started 13th and finished 9th. Shortly thereafter, Yeley returned to USAC where he won his first USAC Sprint Car Series Championship in 2001.

Yeley followed up his USAC Sprint Car championship with a USAC Silver Crown championship in 2002, but nothing would prepare him for one of the most impressive seasons in USAC history. In 2003, he reeled off an amazing 24 USAC wins, breaking the single-season record set by racing legend A.J. Foyt who won 19 races during the 1961 season.

In addition, Yeley became only the second driver in USAC history to win the “Triple Crown” by capturing the Midget, Sprint and Silver Crown championships in a single season, joining Tony Stewart as the only other driver to accomplish that feat.

Yeley raced in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from 2006-2008 for Joe Gibbs Racing and Hall of Fame Racing, where he had two top-five finishes and seven top-10s. In 2009, he has competed in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the Camping World Truck Series, plus continued to race at a multitude of midget and sprint car races.
