Shipping Fees Changing 9/1/09
We managed to go nearly two years without changing our shipping fee structure (even after incurring two rate hikes by carriers), but a lot of recent feedback from our customers has caused us to take a long, hard look at our rates. After literally weeks of analysis, it was glaringly obvious that our set-rate fee structure had become obsolete. Therefore, effective September 1st, 2009, we are implementing a new structure that is based on the weight and dimensions of the item(s) you buy, along with the location you are shipping to.
We have put together an FAQ which we hope will help answer any questions you may have about these changes.
Why have you made these changes?
The old system had become lop-sided and was frequently resulting in customers paying too much for shipping, and sometimes not enough. We needed to eliminate the disparity.
When will these changes take effect?
They will be effective for any order not paid for beginning at 10:00am central time on September 1st, 2009.
How will this affect my current auction wins that are sitting on my Pay & Ship?
Any auction wins or items that have been purchased through Get-It-Now™ / Get-It-New™, which have not been paid for by 9:59:59 AM central time on September 1st, will have the new shipping charges applied to them.
How do I know what the new shipping rates are going to be?
Beginning on August 25th, we have begun to publish what the new rates will be in every auction and item listing. Just check the special boxes in the Payment and Shipping section to see what the new single item rate will be, as well as if is combined with other items.
What is the Single Item Rate and what is the Additional Item Rate?
Very simply, the Single Item Rate is what the item will cost if shipped by itself. The Additional Item Rate is what it will cost if combined with any items that you've won or purchased that are currently in your Pay & Ship checkout form.
Can I combine multiple items in one shipment?
Yes! And you will save some of the shipping cost when you do so. However, you must complete payment within 7 days of your earliest auction win or product selection from Get-It-Now™ or Get-It-New™. No exceptions can be made to this policy since product is limited and there are other members who may be interested in acquiring the item.
May I delay my order to get a better rate?
Unfortunately, no since these rates are not retroactive. You must complete payment within 7 days of your earliest auction win or product selection from Get-It-Now or Get-It-New. I live outside the continental United States. Will I see changes?
We are working hard to make similar changes in shipping to residents outside the continental United States. If you live in one of these locations, we will send you more information as it becomes available.
