We here at GoMotorBids.com feel very honored to have been selected by Doug Herbert as the official online auction for the BRAKES Foundation, and the causes it supports. This section will feature rare pieces of racing memorabilia which has been donated by various drivers and teams, all who want to raise awareness and funding for this worthwhile organization. The net proceeds of all of these auctions will go straight to the BRAKES Foundation. A new item ( or items) will be added each week, and autographed items will include a Certificate of Authenticity. All auctions in this section will feature popcorn bidding, so there is no chance that you can be “sniped” by a last minute bid.

On January 26, 2008, Doug Herbert experienced every parent’s worst nightmare: his two sons, Jon, 17, and James, 12, lost their lives in a tragic automobile accident.

Trying to make some sense of this horrible tragedy, Doug has made it his mission to help prevent other parents, friends and families from enduring the pain he has been going through. This desire to help prevent further tragedy spurred Doug into action.

After partnering with Jon’s classmates from South Lake Christian Academy, BRAKES – Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe = was born.
